The kidnapping of Maduro was another instance of the surprises Trump uses to navigate today’s world, revealing what Trump’s new system for the world is!
This present world has become old for the American bourgeoisie, and the US can no longer dominate the world according to standards such as “national sovereignty and United Nations agreements.” “Making America Great Again” requires a new system that revolves the entire world, its laws, and the societal life of humanity around the axis of the sovereignty of the American capitalist state.
It is foolish if someone, after these two years of testing Trump’s new system, falls into the trap of believing that removing the “dictatorship of Venezuela,” “Iran’s mullahs,” “Assad,” “Hamas,” “Hezbollah,” and “Hashd al-Shaabi” makes the ground favourable for the struggle and revolution of the working-class people, the oppressed, and the socialists.
Trump’s American state, in its economic and political race with China and Russia, needs to create dictatorships like itself, such as Netanyahu, Sisi, bin Salman, Reza Shah, and the neoliberals of Latin America (Javier Milei of Argentina, José Kast of Chile, Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, and Bolsonaro of Brazil) and the right-wingers of Europe. These are the requirements of American imperialism in the war and competition for invading global markets and regions of influence, which capitalist capital needs. The decline of America’s economic capability and the rise of China have placed the American bourgeoisie at the brink of the collapse of its empire, and Trump, as the commander-in-chief of the American military force, has become the primary tool to confront this anticipated failure in the arena of economic warfare.
Placing Venezuela and its oil under siege is a step toward implementing the “Trump Corollary” plan, which aims to bring the entire American continent, the “Western Hemisphere,” under the economic, political, and military control of the American state. This is why the next target is Mexico, and if these two countries, Venezuela and Mexico, surrender, the rest of Latin American countries will become targets. Thus, this American strategy for the Middle East, Asia, and the world carries long-term instability.
Today, there must be a change in confronting this militaristic and political hegemony of America. An important lesson from these events for the opposition of all peoples facing this American threat and warmongering, especially in Central and Latin America, is that the working-class and oppressed people can no longer be protected under the shadow of dictatorial military states like Maduro’s, and the anti-imperialist movement in Latin America can no longer rely on oppressive and conservative states like Iran and Russia to confront the dangers of the Trump administration’s threats, because these states themselves are part of the global capitalist barbarism today. Therefore, the revolutionary strategy of these popular movements must focus on building solidarity and support with all anti-capitalist movements worldwide, examples of which we see in the fronts against the war on Gaza, Venezuela, Ukraine, and the economic policies of the International Monetary Bank and G7, as well as in protests.
The people of Latin America were pioneers in the anti-imperialist movement against America in the last century. The defeat of Trump’s rogue empire and his “Corollary” plans can be achieved by this movement when it unites at the level of Latin American countries and receives global support, like Gaza. This is the qualitative force that has no solution but to join the war against the capitalist barrier everywhere and at the levels of both the Western and Eastern Hemispheres.
